Launch Your Career in a High-Demand Field with the ThinkBIG EPG Program
What Is EPG?
Electric Power Generation is an expanding field at Foley and across the global economy. EPG Technicians install, service, and repair the generator systems that keep our world running—from data centers and manufacturing facilities to concerts, hospitals, schools, and emergency-response operations. When critical systems need power, EPG professionals are the ones who make it happen.
How does the EPG Program Differ from the Standard ThinkBIG Program?
Both programs build a strong foundation in Caterpillar equipment service, but the ThinkBIG EPG Program adds a specialized focus on generator systems and power solutions.
- Same First-Year Curriculum as Standard ThinkBIG
In your first year, you’ll complete the same high-quality ThinkBIG courses taught in the traditional Construction & Heavy Equipment program—building the essential skills required of all CAT technicians. - Exclusive Second-Year EPG Specialization
During your second year, your coursework shifts entirely to Electric Power Generation, giving you in-depth training on generator systems, electrical controls, diagnostics, and power distribution. - EPG-Only Internship Experience
While traditional ThinkBIG students rotate through various heavy-equipment departments, EPG students complete all paid internship rotations specifically within the EPG division. This means you’re continually building specialized experience and a strong technical foundation from day one.
Foley Equipment is proud to partner with WSU Tech to offer the only ThinkBIG Electric Power Generation (EPG) Program in the Midwest—one of just three programs of its kind in the entire nation. If you’re looking for a career with long-term growth, valuable technical skills, and real-world impact, EPG is a powerful path forward.
