Program Benefits
The Technician Scholarship Program Includes:
- $1,000 awarded in the first year; may renew second year if you remain eligible, for a total of $2,000
- Pays for tuition, books, fees, and supplies after all other financial aid is applied
Who Can Apply?
- Minimum 2.5 GPA in senior year
- Plan to pursue a technical school or college degree and a career in diesel technology, heavy equipment, or electric power generation
- ThinkBIG participants also may qualify for a separate ThinkBIG scholarship

The Promise Act Scholarship Turns Ability Into a Career
The Kansas Promise Act Scholarship provides service scholarships for Kansas residents to attend Kansas community and technical colleges to study in one of four specific fields.
- This scholarship can be used for up to a per-student lifetime total of 68 credit hours or $20,000, whichever occurs first.
- This scholarship is a last-dollar scholarship, which means that a student may receive a scholarship in the amount of aggregate tuition, required fees, books, and materials minus all other financial aid (including grants and scholarships) that does not require repayment.
- Scholarships are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, so apply early and follow the deadlines for each semester.
- Review all the eligibility criteria carefully to ensure you meet all requirements and submit all required documents.
- Our WSU Tech and Foley Internship Programs are scholarship eligible and a great way to jumpstart your technical career.

The A+ Scholarship Program Elevates Every Student
Missouri’s A+ Scholarship Program provides scholarship funds to eligible graduates of Missouri A+ designated high schools who attend a participating Missouri public community college or vocational/technical school, or certain private two-year vocational/technical schools.
- This scholarship amount varies based on qualifying criteria.
- Contact your high school A+ Coordinator for your eligibility status based on the high school eligibility criteria.
- Contact the financial aid office at your school for your post-secondary eligibility status.
- Review all of the eligibility criteria carefully to ensure you meet all requirements and submit all required documents.
- Our ThinkBIG program at State Technical College of Missouri is A+ Scholarship eligible!

Wear clean and tidy jeans or pants, and a nice shirt. You can wear work boots to the interview if the job requires them.
